Amna Al-Dahhak: Adopting blue residency enhances climate action

Abu Dhabi, May 15 / WAM / Her Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahhak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, confirmed that today’s Cabinet approval of the “Blue Residency” reflects the UAE’s keenness to enhance climate action and redouble environmental conservation efforts in the country. Her Excellency said: “The adoption of the Blue Residency comes in light of the Year of Sustainability, as it aims to appreciate the efforts of individuals who contribute to enriching climate and environmental work in the country, and to encourage them to provide more, which will contribute to strengthening the UAE’s position as a global center for sustainability and the manufacture of climate-smart and environmentally friendly solutions.” And then support the country’s efforts to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.” Her Excellency added: “We are working in cooperation with all relevant authorities in the Emirates to implement all the climate and environmental plans and goals of the Emirates, and to involve the private sector and members of society in this field in order to move forward in the process of sustainable development in the country.

She noted that the Blue Residency will play a major role in attracting more innovators and human cadres who are pioneers of climate action from all over the world and enhancing their role in advancing the UAE’s endeavors to create a sustainable future for us and all the peoples of the world.
