Iraqi Kurdistan and Washington are discussing strengthening their cooperation in the energy sector

Baghdad, May 17 / WAM / The Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the United States discussed ways to enhance their cooperation in the energy sector and the challenges facing this vital sector in Iraq.
This came during a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, and the US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources, Jeffrey Payette.
According to a statement issued by Barzani’s office, the two parties discussed ways to develop and strengthen the energy sector in the region in particular and in Iraq in general, including benefiting from clean and renewable energy, and plans and projects aimed at advancing the electricity sector in the country.
