“We are not taking advantage of the opportunity, we have an overload of work”, defends himself Monday May 20 on franceinfo Fabien Villedieu, federal secretary SUD-Rail, while a transport strike is planned for Tuesday. Traffic will be “very seriously disturbed” on the RER and the Transilien in Ile-de-France provided by SNCF. Management offers a bonus of 50 euros gross per day to employees during the Olympics and 200 to 500 euros more depending on the period. The SUD-Rail union is demanding a bonus of 100 euros net per day, a bonus of 1,000 euros and a general increase in salaries.
Fabien Villedieu assures us, it is a mobilization “classic”. The federal secretary says “surprised that people are surprised”. According to him, this mobilization is justified since there will be “4,500” more trains to run. He adds that colleagues “will not be able to go on vacation with their family in August […] Everyone doesn’t care, but we don’t care.”. This additional workload must be compensated: “If we want to have this workload, colleagues need to get their heads together and the 50 euros offered today are not enough”. There’s no “balance”.
Asked about going on strike without first trying to negotiate, he replied: “Mobilization and strike are part of the negotiation. Either we have a cold negotiation without mobilization” but in this case, Fabien Villedieu fears that it is “more complicated to obtain” what employees ask for. “Either we have a hot negotiation with the weight of a mobilization”. “This is the strategy we wanted to put in placehe continues, and we’ll see what happens.”. However, the trade unionist says he is confident and thinks “being able to find a solution with management”.
According to him, the mobilization works: “We had an end-of-career agreement not very long ago, we mobilized around this agreement”. According to him, this is what made it possible to win his case: “It’s the mobilization, the strikes that allowed us to have a good end-of-career agreement.
