Russian watercolor artist Sergei Andriyaka has died

People’s Artist of Russia Sergei Andriyaka died at the age of 65 years.

By information Telegram channel Shot, the cause of the painter’s death was an oncological disease, which he had been struggling with in recent years. The date and place of farewell to the artist are still unknown.

Andriyaka is a famous Russian watercolorist. The main genres of his work were landscape and still life. In 1995, by order of the capital’s mayor’s office, Andriyaka painted a six-meter panorama of Moscow in the 19th century. He also has a lot paintings and with foreign architecture. The artist’s works are in major museums around the world and private collections; more than two hundred of his paintings hanging in the Kremlin.

In 1999, Andriyaka founded the Watercolor School named after himself in Moscow and was its permanent artistic director. In 2002, the Sergei Andriyaka Academy of Watercolor and Fine Arts was opened in Moscow, where higher education has been available since 2012. Andriyaka was the rector of the university.
