Scone Cup races Friday tips and full preview

Race 4 – 1:20PM PRYDE’S EASIFEED CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

3. Pisanello did his early racing in Victoria and scored a maiden victory at Kyneton last November. He resumed from a spell at Wyong earlier this month and he hit the line well to finish second behind Bodgie. He should be hitting the line well again in this.
Dangers: 6. Escutcheon is lightly raced with just the three starts to his name. He’s a Kembla Grange winner and has had two trials to prepare for this resuming run. 15. Lizzie’s Gem resumed with a narrow Wyong victory and now that she’s won, she is capable of going on with the job. 14. Line Of Law has shown talent with a win and four placings from 10 starts, and she’s looked good in her recent trials.
How to play it: Pisanello EACH-WAY.

Race 5 – 1:55PM INGLIS 2YO CHALLENGE (1100 METRES)

3. La Pleine Lune created a big impression when debuting during the Warrnambool carnival and scoring a dominant win by nine lengths. He led throughout in that event and from the good gate in this event he should be prominent again from the outset.
Dangers: 7. Hand Crafted had three starts in Melbourne late last year in tougher grade than what she meets in this and she performed well enough in each of them to suggest she will be in the thick of things in this company. 14. Rose Aye debuted at Wagga and ran well when finishing second. This is a tougher task and she’s drawn wide, but she looks to have the ability to overcome that. 12. Overfull is a Sunshine Coast winner and finished second at Doomben and fourth at Eagle Farm at her other two starts. She can figure here despite drawing wide.
How to play it: La Pleine Lune WIN.

Race 6 – 2:30PM LION CLASS 2 HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

Loading

3. Emmadella was in good form last campaign and managed to score wins at Kembla Grange and Newcastle in addition to being placed in a couple of other runs. She resumed from a spell with a fifth at Canterbury when beaten less than a length and she should be better for that hitout. Expect her to be finding the line well.
Dangers: 2. Code In Time looked good winning his first two starts back from a spell at Canberra when racing on the speed and fighting on strongly. He finished second after leading at Kembla Grange last time out and should give plenty of cheek again. 4. Head Of The Herd is a winner of two of his five starts and he resumes from a spell here. He should be primed to run well after a couple of trials. 5. Battle Of Vienna justified an odds-on quote to score when resuming at Gosford and can go on with the job if he can overcome the awkward barrier.
How to play it: Emmadella WIN.

Race 7 – 3:05PM NEWGATE CLASS 2 HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

3. How Dare You was a Canterbury winner midway through last year then ran sixth behind Kintyre at Rosehill before being spelled. He had two runs in city grade last December and was placed in each of them before being spelled again. He’s had two trials for this and a bold first-up showing is on the cards.
Dangers: 14. Keikoku has been just behind the placings in each of his latest three starts and he’s drawn to get a good run here from barrier two. He is a knockout chance at good odds. 2. Gago was a Wyong winner three starts ago and has finished sixth in two subsequent Newcastle runs. He can be placed here if luck goes his way. 7. Rapt has finished third in each of her last two starts and she can figure in the money again here.
How to play it: How Dare You WIN.

Race 8 – 3:45PM ***BIG DANCE ELIGIBILITY*** DARLEY SCONE CUP (1600 METRES)

3. Attractable was racing in fine form late last year having won the Big Dance at Randwick before running a great race when second in The Ingham before having a let-up. He ran well enough in the Apollo Stakes before failing in the All-Star Mile and has since finished a solid fifth in the Hawkesbury Cup when beaten just two lengths. He’s drawn well here and should take up a prominent position from the outset.
Dangers: 2. Nugget is a classy performer which ran well in the Epsom last spring before running a good fourth in the King Charles behind Fangirl. He was beaten less than a length in the Doncaster Mile at his latest start and only needs to run up to that to be rated one of the hardest to beat here. 4. Berkshire Shadow ran well in the Hawkesbury Cup at his latest start when not beaten far despite finishing eighth. He ran well in the Doncaster Mile before that and is worth plenty of thought against these. 8. Welwal is also coming out of the Hawkesbury Cup in which he finished third, and a repeat of that effort would have him right in the thick of things from the good barrier.
How to play it: Attractable EACH-WAY.

Race 9 – 4:25PM VINERY COUNTRY CUP – BENCHMARK 84 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

6. Tap ‘N’ Run hit the line well to finish second at Wagga two starts ago and then finished sixth, beaten less than two lengths, in the Wagga Town Plate last time out. He should give this a shake.
Dangers: 11. The Dramatist lost his rider in the early stages of the Diggers Cup at Narromine at his latest start so that effort can be forgotten. Previous form was solid enough to be rated a chance in this. 12. Spitfire ran well at Wagga when last produced and has the advantage of barrier one here. He should get a soft run and hit the line well. 9. Baledon is a stablemate of Tap ‘N’ Run and has also been racing well enough to be rated a leading contender in this.
How to play it: Tap ‘N’ Run EACH-WAY.

Best Bets: Race 6 (3) Emmadella; Race 7 (3) How Dare You.
Best Value: Race 9 (6) Tap ‘N’ Run.
