 On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defied the announcement of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, regarding the issuance of arrest warrants against him, his Defense Minister Yoav Galant, and three Hamas leaders, while the Israeli opposition denounced the court’s decision.< /p>

 

During a meeting of his “Likud” party, Netanyahu considered the decision of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court a “scandal.” Netanyahu said, “This announcement will not stop me, or Israel,” from the war it is waging against Gaza, in which tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians have been killed, while the Strip faces a siege and shortages of food, water, and medicine. The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, announced earlier, Monday, that he had asked the court to issue arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant, in addition to arrest warrants against 3 Hamas leaders, namely the head of the movement’s political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, and the movement’s leader in Gaza. Yahya Al-Sinwar, commander of the “Al-Qassam Brigades” The military wing of the movement, Muhammad Al-Deif. Khan said in the statement that he is seeking arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant on charges of crimes including “starvation, premeditated murder, extermination or murder.”
