Zakharova: The American uproar over Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan aims to divert attention from Ukraine

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said on Radio Sputnik that the United States is trying to divert attention from both the situation in Ukraine and internal problems with the noise around the visit of Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan.

“The situation around Ukraine, which led Washington to a dead end, from which it was necessary to find a media way out,” said Zakharova.

According to the diplomacy, Washington was trying to distract American society from important problems inside the country: high prices, inflation and stagnation.

The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry considered that the impasse required the United States to “change the information model”, which Pelosi, according to Zakharova, worked to achieve.

Earlier, Maria Zakharova described the visit of an American politician to Taiwan as “a wild act” for the benefit of the United States and its public relations. According to the diplomat, this trip showed that Washington does not put other countries in anything.
