The UK imposed sanctions against two Russian companies

Britain on Friday announced sanctions against two Russian companies. The restrictions included the Eastern Stevedoring Company, which transships containers, and the Fuel and Bunker Company (TBK). Both of them are registered in Nakhodka. TBK director Alexey Vorotnikov was also subject to sanctions.

According to message According to the British government website, TBK and Vorotnikov were sanctioned for allowing ships transshipping oil to the DPRK to bunker in the Russian port of Vostochny.

Restrictions have also been introduced against the Paekyangsan Shipping Company from the DPRK, which is allegedly involved in transporting petroleum products between Russia and North Korea.

The sanctions are aimed at attempts by Moscow and Penan to violate or circumvent UN sanctions through arms-for-oil trade, the press release said.

“Putin is going all out to maintain his illegal war in Ukraine, even resorting to illegal trade deals with North Korea and flagrantly violating UN sanctions that Russia itself voted for,” British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said.
