Sharjah, May 9 / WAM / The activities of the fifteenth session of the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, which continues at the Expo Center Sharjah until May 12 under the slogan “Be the Hero of Your Story”, are hosting participatory and interactive activities centered on the child, and many spaces that combine educational and entertainment activities. The festival activities in the “School of Talents” corner, which is an interactive motivational corner that explores the talents of young people, included the “Joy of Singing” activity presented by British music education trainer Noria Thomas to Al-Baraem, with the aim of developing the artistic aesthetic sense and musical taste in children, teaching them to work collectively, and also involving them in activities. Fun and educational.

The “Workstation” corner of the festival devoted a large area to digital technologies, as the programming club workshop provides suitable skills for the young programmers participating in it in an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment in which they are able to understand the basics of this engineering language and how to create simplified software through practical applications and theoretical explanations.

Children work in the “Talent School” corner, one of the corners and spaces full of activities and events, under the supervision of specialists appointed by the Sharjah Book Authority. To train and teach children, including the “Paper Guitar” workshop, in which they experimented and learned how to make a cardboard guitar, color it, and install its strings using small colored wires to make it a beautiful piece of art.

The Think Tank at the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival witnessed a workshop entitled “Make an Electric Motor” that attracted children between the ages of 8 and 12, who benefited from the opportunity to learn and interact directly with electric motor technology.

The children enjoyed a trip full of fun, exploration and stimulation, and set out to understand the basics of electricity and how to convert electrical energy into mechanical movement. The steps of assembling the components to make the electric motor were completed under the specialized guidance of the workshop supervisor.

The workshop enhanced the students’ opportunities to communicate and interact with each other and benefit from each other’s knowledge. They expressed their happiness in exploring science and technology in new and innovative ways. The workshop also represented an opportunity to promote active learning and develop children’s skills and creativity.

The Jordanian poet and writer Muhammad Jamal Amr, who specializes in children’s literature, met school students during a cultural session in which he talked about his creative literary experience, specifically in the field of poetry and how to develop children’s creativity in writing.

During the meeting, Amr gave the children advice on how to enter the world of writing poetry, pointing out that the basis for this lies in continuous reading, striving towards a dream without stopping, perseverance, and challenging all circumstances.

The “Cultural Forum” at the festival witnessed a remarkable and large presence of middle school students during a morning session entitled “What does our knowledge of something mean?” She highlighted the exploration of the dimensions of knowledge produced by artificial intelligence and how it can affect the performance and lives of individuals, through a presentation presented by Dr. Al. Jones, associate director of the Office of Special Education Programs at the U.S. Department of Education.

Aya Badr, a specialist in social media, confirmed that the future of the digital world consists of several tools aimed at helping the user complete anything he desires, pointing out that its most prominent tools and features are virtual reality technologies and content creation supported by artificial intelligence.

She said during a workshop she presented entitled “Exploring the Future of the Digital World” that virtual reality and artificial intelligence are two tools that reflect the rapid development in the world of digital technology. Through them, you can explore other aspects that do not exist in the current reality, such as returning to ancient civilizations or going to any place in the world while sitting in your place.
