Barangaroo: Horror as man’s body is found in Sydney Harbour after he vanished without a trace

Police have found a body in Sydney Harbour during the search for a young reveller who vanished after a night out clubbing with mates at a busy waterfront precinct.

The man, 26, was last seen at Darling Harbour’s King Street Wharf around 3.30am Sunday after drinking and partying with friends at the Bungalow 8 nightclub.

He was feared to have fallen in the water after no trace was seen or heard of him since

Police from PolAir and the marine command launched an air and water search when the man was reported missing 15 hours later at about 6pm Sunday.

The extensive search was suspended after several hours due to lack of light.

Police divers resumed their search of the harbour on Monday and located the man’s body in the water Barangaroo at around 12.45pm.

‘While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the 26-year-old man,’ a police statement read.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Bungalow8 has confirmed that the missing man had spent his final hours at the venue drinking with friends early Sunday.

‘Our thoughts are with the individual’s family and loved ones during this time,’ a spokesman said.
