She lifted her hair to briefly show the injury, which appears to be on her forehead.

Marcia then explained that she would need to return to hospital following the live broadcast.

‘I got stitches and everything. It is all good. I’m good. I go back to the hospital tonight. I’m going back’ she said.

She had earlier shared a post to the Australian Idol Instagram Stories where she thanked fans for their well wishes and said she was ‘feeling much better’ .

‘Just so that everyone knows. She’s fine. She’s well. But she didn’t just ring up with a headache. She went down.’

‘I was skipping meals. There’d be days when I didn’t eat. I was losing oodles of weight. I was thirsty all the time, and, without being vulgar, I was peeing like a pregnant woman!’

Hines was diagnosed after a dental procedure refused to heal.

‘I wasn’t sick, but I had a procedure done on one of my teeth and it just wouldn’t heal – it just kept throbbing for days,’ she said.

‘I went to the doctor and that was when I was diagnosed with diabetes.’

Hines said she manages her condition with insulin injections and insists, ‘I could have a lot worse things than just diabetes.’

Hines previously said she was delighted to return to the judging panel for Australian Idol in 2024.

She appeared on the singing competition as a judge during its first seven seasons, and she’s taking her seat at the table once again.

‘I was surprised and delighted because I really love that gig. I don’t know if people realised how much it meant to me,’ she told the Daily Telegraph.

‘Why? Because like me, they just want to sing, they want to find a career in singing,’ the pop star added.

Hines was one of the original judges on Idol when it debuted Down Under in 2003.
