Internet in uproar after screenshots from Amanda Bynes’ old website promoting games called ‘Color my Belly’ and ‘Name that Body Part’ resurface – amid backlash from explosive documentary and accusations against Dan Schneider

The internet has been left in uproar over screenshots from Amanda Bynes’ old website that promoted games called ‘Color my Belly’ and ‘Name that Body Part’ – which have resurfaced amid the shocking new docuseries that saw former Nickelodeon child stars speaking out about the negative experiences they had while working at the network.

Ever since the ID show Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV premiered earlier this month, accusations that Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider sexualized the young actors and actresses who starred in his shows have been swirling. 

And now, some eyebrow-raising games and videos from Amanda’s old website have only added fuel to the fire.

The website, called AmandaPlease.com, was created when Amanda was only 13 years old during her time on The Amanda Show – and was promoted as a place where fans could access clips and videos of her from the comedy sketch show, watch her interviews, and play games.

While it was shut down in 2017 and now redirects you to Nickelodeon’s website when you try to visit, a woman named Nat recently uploaded screenshots of its archives to TikTok – and some of the titles of the activities and links left people on the web extremely uncomfortable.

Under the video section, there were links to clips simply named ‘Amanda Gargles,’ ‘Amanda Squirts Cheese in her Hands,’ and ‘Amanda Dances with Banana.’ 

There were also sections named ‘Dirty Foot’ and ‘Toenail,’ and a fake ad called ‘Remote Control Underpants.’

‘I went into the archive and right away you see some weird things,’ Nat told her followers as she showcased screenshots of the old website. 

‘You have [sections] for body parts and sniffing shoes. There’s [sections] called “Dirty Foot” and “Toenail.” 

‘If you look at the game section on the website for a 13-year-old little girl, there is one game called “Color my Belly” and another called “Name that Body Part.”‘

For the latter, Nat explained that close up images of various parts of Amanda’s body – like her hands or her arms – would flash across the screen and you’d have to guess which part it came from. 

Nat questioned if ‘there was traffic to the website from the wrong crowd.’

‘I believe Dan Schneider was catering to a specific audience, that’s how he became such a hit on these shows,’ she continued. 

‘He was able to bring in such a huge amount of viewers because he was catering to adults who were into some gross stuff.’

Nat also pointed out that the name of the website – AmandaPlease.com – sounds like ‘a man to please’ when you say it out loud.

‘It’s [interesting] considering what was going on on there,’ she added. ‘We were 10-year-old girls running around and saying “a man to please” thanks to Dan Schneider. [It seems like] it was a big sick joke that we were all a part of.’ 

She also shared a clip from The Amanda Show that showed the young star portraying a super-fan named Penelope Taynt.

In it, she and another one of Amanda’s supporters argued over who was a bigger fan by listing off various facts about her like her birthday, middle name, and IQ. 

‘I was going back to watch old Penelope clips and I got this really weird feeling from [this one],’ said Nat. 

‘She was a kid at this point, not a character. They’re using her real name and real stats about her. 

‘It’s giving “putting a child in danger” vibes, and this was before the internet was a place where people were posting their kids.’

Quiet On Set described Nickelodeon in the early 2000s as an ‘insidious environment rife with allegations of abuse, sexism, racism and inappropriate dynamics with its underage stars and crew.’ 

In it, Nickelodeon ‘golden boy’ Dan, now 58, was accused of ‘degrading’ staff by The Amanda Show writers Christy Stratton and Jenny Kilgen.

Christy claimed he would turn ‘volatile’ at ‘any moment’ and recalled being ‘scared, paranoid, and uncomfortable’ on set.

‘Working for Dan was like being in an abusive relationship,’ she stated. 

Jenny even claimed that he would ‘show pornography on his computer screen’ and ‘asked her several times to massage him in the writers room.’

‘You always felt like disagreeing with Dan or standing up for yourself could result in getting fired,’ she added. 

‘One of the worst [times was], we were in the writers’ room and Christy was talking about high school which is relevant because we are writing for a young girl.

‘And Dan just said: “You know what would be funny? If you leaned over the table and acted like you were being sodomized and told that story about high school.”‘

Jenny said that Christy had initially said no but Dan kept insisting and ‘she couldn’t get out of it.’

‘So she just leaned over the table and did what he asked her to do. It was upsetting to watch,’ she added.

‘It was probably the wrongest thing I have ever seen happen to a woman in a professional environment ever.’ 

Dan – who helped create some of the network’s most popular shows like All That, Drake & Josh, Henry Danger, Kenan & Kel, Sam & Cat, The Amanda Show, Victorious, Zoey 101, and iCarly – departed from the network in 2018 amid numerous allegations of misconduct. 

At the time, Nickelodeon said it had performed an internal investigation and found that evidence to back up the allegations was ‘non-existent.’ 

Other shocking revelations made throughout the docuseries included that production assistant Jason Handy had harbored an ‘enormous trove of child pornography’ and that the network had hired a registered sex offender in 2005.

Drake Bell also came forward in the documentary to share that he was sexually abused as a teenager by Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck. 

After its release, many people began accusing the network of ‘sexualizing’ its stars after an array of old footage began to go viral.

One particular clip showed a bikini-clad Amanda hanging out in a hot tub with Dan when she was only 16 years. 

The video was taken from a recurring sketch on The Amanda Show, titled Amanda’s Jacuzzi, which saw the young star interview guests while in the bubbling pool. 

Other ‘disturbing’ videos featured Ariana Grande sticking her hand down her throat, putting her toes in her mouth, and talking about being ‘soaking wet’ at the age of 16. 

She was also seen trying to get juice from a potato – which involved her squeezing it as hard as possible and letting out loud moaning noises – and attempting to drink water upside down in a provocative position – which resulted in it spilling all over her head and chest. 

In a video shared to his YouTube channel earlier this week, Dan responded to the onslaught of allegations, and he admitted that he ‘regretted’ his past actions and that he owed ‘some people a pretty strong apology.’

‘Watching over the past two nights, facing my past behaviors – some of which are embarrassing and that I regret – was very difficult,’ he began. ‘I definitely owe some people a pretty strong apology.’

Addressing the widespread reports of inappropriate behavior in the writers’ room, Dan said: ‘Let me just say no writer should ever feel uncomfortable in any writers’ room. Ever. Period. The End. No excuses. 

‘Most TV writers comedy writers have been in writer rooms and they are aware that a lot of times there are inappropriate jokes made and inappropriate topics come up. 

‘But the fact that I participated in that, especially when I was leading the room, embarrasses me. I shouldn’t have done it.

‘In the writers’ room there’s no doubt that sometimes those jokes went beyond the pale and I said things that went too far or made practical jokes that went too far. 

‘That was wrong and that was because I was an inexperienced producer. I was immature – it wouldn’t happen today but I’m just really sorry it happened.’ 

He also apologized for his frequent requests for massages from female members of staff while in the studio during the 19-minute video.

‘It was wrong. It was wrong that I ever put anyone in that position. It was wrong to do,’ he stated.

‘I’d never do it today. I’m embarrassed that I did it then. I apologize to anybody that I ever put in that situation.’

Dan concluded, ‘I hate that anybody worked for me and didn’t have a good time… I would let the pressure of doing 40 or even more episodes per year get to me – which a good boss should never, ever do.

‘I would snap at people sometimes, I would be snarky when I could have given them a nicer answer.

‘I would not give people the time that they needed, I would be in too big a hurry to get on to the next thing I had to do.

‘Watching [Quiet On Set], there were so many times I wanted to pick up a phone and call some of those people and say, “I’m so sorry and let’s talk about it and I wish you had a better time and I wish I could have shown you a better experience.”‘
