Urgent..The government begins paying dues to foreign partners in petroleum projects

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly affirmed the state’s keenness to take intensive steps in the file of foreign oil companies’ dues in Egypt, by starting to implement a robust mechanism that has been prepared to pay the dues of foreign partners, which contributes to spreading more confidence and reassurance in the sector. This came during a meeting held by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, today, to follow up on the file of dues of foreign companies working in petroleum projects in Egypt, in the presence of the Governor of the Central Bank, Hassan Abdullah, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Engineer Tariq Al-Mulla, and the Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohamed Maait.

Counselor Mohamed Al-Homsani, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that it was noted during the meeting that the government had begun paying the dues of foreign partners working in petroleum projects in Egypt, with a total of about 20% of the arrears, through a scheduled plan to pay all arrears successively during the coming period.

The official spokesman indicated that the meeting dealt with reviewing the position of securing supplies of petroleum products to the local market, as well as following up on research and exploration plans and work, and working to increase the production capacity of Egyptian refineries to increase local production of high-quality petroleum products and raise operating efficiency. .
