Horror as toddler, 2, is discovered alone in unit with the body of the child’s father who’d been dead for four days
A toddler has been found alone in a unit with the body of the child’s father who had been dead for days.
The tragedy was discovered at around 11.30am on Good Friday morning when Queensland Police attended the Stapylton St home in Coolangatta on the Gold Coast.
The officers were there to perform a welfare check after a call from a relative who said they had not been able to contact the man since Monday.
The shocked officers found the man’s dead body and the two-year-old child inside the property.
The man is thought to have been dead for up to four days.

The toddler was taken to Tweed Heads Hospital for a check up and has since been reunited with her mother.
The death of the man, who was an Iranian immigrant, is reportedly non-suspicious, but the cause of his death is being investigated.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
