Mufti of the Republic: The conquest of Mecca is a great victory for Islam and Muslims from which lessons must be learned

Dr. Shawqi Allam – Mufti of the Republic, Head of the General Secretariat of Fatwa Houses and Bodies in the World, said: The conquest of Mecca is a great victory and a clear victory for Islam and Muslims, from which lessons must be learned that establish how to struggle with oneself and look at the consequences, with experience and wisdom in managing… Crises, and with all of that, there is progress, advancement, calling to God Almighty, and understanding the purposes of Sharia for creation.

This came during his daily Ramadan interview on the “Ask the Mufti” program. With the journalist Hamdi Rizk, who was shown on Sada El-Balad TV, adding, His Eminence, that his mercy, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, included his family, his companions, and the entire nation. He, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was the best of people, the best for his nation, and the best for his family. His anger never preceded his mercy, and he was not obscene or obscene, nor He is vocal, and does not repay evil with evil, but pardons and pardons.

His Eminence strongly praised the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, saying: The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah was extremely brilliant. Because he established an original principle, which is that the ruler or the state has the right to act according to what the interest dictates, and the interest may be absent for some. Because they do not have sufficient information, which is what was made available to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, through revelation, so he knew how things would turn out in the future. Anyone who looks at the condition of the Companions when they went out for this peace treaty will see that they were not army or armed, but rather they went to perform Umrah, and despite the fact that they had promised the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, when they pledged allegiance to him under the tree, to sacrifice themselves in defending the religion, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not take revenge. Rather, he was the first to seek to avoid bloodshed. Blood and its infallibility, which is what happened.

His Eminence the Mufti reviewed some of the examples that occurred during the conquest of Mecca and reinforced the principle of mercy, tolerance and forgiveness, including the saying of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him: “Today is the day of mercy.” In response to the words of one of the companions: “Today is the day of the epic.”

His Eminence explained how he, peace and blessings be upon him, dealt with those who harmed him, expelled him, and supported his expulsion and harm. He did not abuse the people of Mecca when he conquered it, but only asked them: “What do you see?” What will I do to you?» They answered him: “Good, a generous brother and a generous nephew.” So he said to them: “Go, for you are free.” This is the pinnacle of forgiveness with ability. He did not blame or grant them forgiveness, but rather he pardoned and forgave and called for mercy and forgiveness, to be an example for those who come after him. Because his actions and words have become legislation and a constitution for Muslims and others until God inherits the earth and those on it.

The Mufti of the Republic added that the mercy of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, appeared in all matters of his life, and perhaps the most prominent of them is what he said about the people of Mecca who harmed him. They tortured his companions, and yet he did not pray against them. Rather, he was a reader of the future and could see the coming light, so he said to our master Gabriel: “Rather, I hope that God will bring forth from their loins someone who will worship God alone, not associating anything with Him.”

And about the ongoing confusion. Regarding the ruling on a woman taking financial compensation from her husband in exchange for his service and the service of their children, His Eminence said: Whoever demands this has not read the Egyptian reality well. In most cases, the Egyptian wife supports her husband and her family in all matters of life, and maintains the family entity, which is something that distinguishes Egyptian women.

His Eminence concluded his dialogue by answering a question saying: Does a mother’s forgiveness of a disobedient son exempt him from punishment and guilt in life and hereafter? Saying: We ask God to forgive everyone, but we really need an honest pause in the month of Ramadan to reconsider our calculations on the issue of family ties, and we need a courageous pause to arrange the papers to end the quarrel and estrangement, and we must benefit from the scents of this holy month to address any existing estrangement or estrangement.
