Giza Governor: Establishing a branch of the Egyptian Public Library on Khatam Al-Morsalin Street

Ahmed Rashed, Governor of Giza, and Ambassador Mohamed Al-Taifi, Director of the Egypt Public Libraries Fund, signed a cooperation protocol for the purpose of establishing a branch of the library on an area of ​​420 square meters on Khatam Al-Morsaleen Street in the Omraniya district.

The Governor of Giza indicated that the protocol is the result of joint cooperation. Between the Ministry of Planning and the Governorate and the Misr Public Library, which comes within the framework of the governorate’s keenness to raise public awareness of citizens and enable them to access various sources of culture and development in their surroundings.

The governor added that the expansion of the establishment of libraries and cultural houses aims to improve the local community. And the cultural level of women within the framework of the Decent Life Initiative and to achieve Vision 2030 and the sustainable development goals.

Rashid stressed that the library’s services are scheduled to include holding cultural and recreational activities and events and communicating with universities and schools to encourage students to benefit from these events and activities.< /p>

The governor directed the director of the Housing Directorate and the head of the Omraniyah district to quickly complete the licenses and permits for construction and to prepare the conditions booklet and tender procedures to speed up the start of work… stressing the necessity of providing a special garage in the library to prevent parking of cars in order to facilitate traffic movement in its surroundings, taking into account the appearance. The cultural building and facades to show the visual identity of the governorate.

For his part, Ambassador Muhammad Al-Taifi indicated that the library is scheduled to include the provision of gardens, activity halls, automatic browsing and reading, a library for the elderly, and a Kids Area, noting that it is planned that the experiment will be repeated. To include other neighbourhoods, centers and cities in the governorate.

The signing of the protocol was attended by Hind Abdel Halim, Deputy Governor, Shaker Younis, General Secretary of the Governorate, Rania Al-Sharaan, Director of the Misr Public Library, Ahmed Galal, Head of the Omraniya District, and officials of the advisory office and the relevant departments and bodies.
