Tragedy as two men die in separate workplace accidents just hours apart in Western Australia

Two men have tragically died in separate workplace incidents just hours apart in Western Australia on Wednesday.

A 32-year-old man was crushed to death at a construction site on Carrington Street in the Perth’s suburb of O’Connor about 2.40pm

It is understood there were only a handful of people on the site at the time of the incident.

Unfortunately his colleagues were not able to save him and he died at the scene.

Worksafe investigators visited the site and will continue their investigations on Thursday.

In an unrelated incident, a man in his 20s was killed while working in the state’s Wheatbelt region at a concrete manufacturing site in Dalwallinu about 12.40pm.

It’s understood his death was linked to an incident involving a forklift carrying a heavy load.

Police officers who arrived at the Huggett Drive site declared the man deceased and secured the scene.

Worksafe investigators travelled to the town, which is 250km northeast of Perth, on Thursday morning to start their investigation into the accident.

The number of work deaths in WA has dropped to 21 in the 22/23 financial year, down from 29 in 21/22.
