Queen’s ‘happy place’ to open to public for first time
Cairo: Hani Kamal El-Din
London: King Charles will allow public visits to Balmoral this summer in the north for the first time in the Scottish castle’s history.
Experienced guides will show small groups inside and tour several rooms used by the King and Queen Camilla.
A royal source said the move was in line with Charles’s desire to make royal residences more accessible to the public.
It also reflects suggestions made following the death of her mother, Queen Elizabeth II, that the house had been intended as a place for the public to remember her.
