Security source: Intensive security alert to secure citizens’ celebrations of Eid Al-Fitr
A high-level security source confirmed that the Ministry of Interior has finished putting the final touches on the plan to secure citizens’ celebrations of Eid al-Fitr, in implementation of the directives of Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, Minister of Interior.
The security source said – in a special statement to the Middle East News Agency on Friday – that Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, Minister of the Interior, directed all sectors of the ministry to raise the highest level of preparedness. To secure citizens’ celebrations in all governorates of the Republic, he stressed at the same time the necessity of an effective field security presence for all supervisory and leadership levels. To follow up on the progress of security performance, intensify traffic to security services, and emphasize the need to be fully vigilant, commit to performing the duties and tasks assigned to them with the utmost precision, and treat citizens well during the implementation of the plan’s axes.
He explained that the plan to secure citizens’ celebrations of Eid al-Fitr included several axes, including intensifying security deployment in the main streets and squares, public gardens, parks, cinemas, and Nile marinas, which citizens visit during the celebrations. This is through the intensive deployment of fixed and mobile security forces, as well as the deployment of female police officers in the squares of central Greater Cairo, in addition to the deployment of rapid intervention forces in all main axes.
He pointed out that The plan also included intensifying traffic services on all main axes and highways, and deploying urgent relief vehicles. To provide assistance to citizens and maintain the safety of citizens from road users, in addition to continuing to activate the operating rooms, to deal with any emergency within 24 hours.
The security source added that the plan was also approved. To intensify market supervision; To control price manipulators, confront commercial fraud crimes, verify the availability of validity requirements for goods, tighten control over markets, and monitor the movement of commodity trading during the Eid period.
He continued that the plan also took into account the spread of goods. Intensive security surrounding all important and vital installations in the country, especially during the Eid period, and following up and responding with the utmost decisiveness to any attempts that may disturb the safe environment that the country enjoys.
The security source confirmed that Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, Minister of Interior, stressed the importance of taking into account the humanitarian dimension when dealing with citizens during the implementation of the plan to secure Eid al-Fitr celebrations, and providing all possible assistance, especially for emergency situations, as it is one of the constants of the Ministry of Interior’s security strategy.
