A 5.5 magnitude earthquake strikes the coast of Honshu Island, Japan

TOKYO, April 6, 2017 (WAM) – An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale struck the eastern coast of Honshu Island, Japan, this morning. No human or material losses were recorded.
The German Research Center for Geological Sciences reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 38.3 kilometers, and was initially identified at the intersection of latitude 40.93 degrees north and longitude 143.30 degrees east.
