Jassim Al-Budaiwi launches the website and new identity of the Gulf Journalists Union

Manama, May 15 / WAM / His Excellency Jassim Al Budawi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, confirmed that the large participation of high-level Arab leaders in the “Bahrain Summit” indicates the importance of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its Arab status on the one hand and indicates the importance of this summit, which comes at a sensitive time. It is a matter that the international community, especially our region, is going through. This came during his inauguration of the website and new identity of the Gulf Journalists Union in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Issa Al Shaiji, President of the Union, and a number of Gulf and Arab officials and media professionals.

His Excellency said: “The issue of Palestine is the first Arab issue and the first issue in this summit, and it seeks to work towards convincing the international community to control the irresponsible Israeli actions,” noting that the “cooperation countries” play an essential role in the process of Arab integration and in bringing viewpoints closer together in all matters. Arab-Arab files, whether at the political, economic, social or media level, and we are working hard with our brothers in the Arab countries to make these files a success.

For his part, His Excellency the Bahraini Minister of Information confirmed that the presence of His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council at the inauguration ceremony of the website and the new identity of the Union expresses the support of the leaders of the Cooperation Council for this entity and the Gulf press in general, stressing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to supporting this union as the headquarters of the Union.

He pointed out that the inauguration ceremony coincides with Bahrain’s hosting of the Arab Summit and emphasizes Bahrain’s message in promoting joint Arab action, whether at the Gulf or Arab level. It also coincides with the Kingdom’s celebration as the capital of Arab media and the celebrations on the occasion of the silver jubilee of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as king. The sister Kingdom of Bahrain holds the reins of government.

In turn, Fadela Al-Muaini, President of the Emirates Journalists Association, said that the Gulf Journalists Union is an important entity that brings together all Gulf journalistic associations under its banner, hoping that this union will benefit all journalists in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The Union was established based on a preparatory meeting held in Manama last January, and aims to advance Gulf journalistic work, guarantee the rights of journalists and media professionals, and develop means of communication between international, Arab and global journalistic organizations, in addition to working to implement projects related to joint Gulf media endeavors among the countries of the Cooperation Council. .
