The Sharjah Chamber organizes the Business and Investment Forum in cooperation with Mauritius

Sharjah, May 15 / WAM / The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized at its headquarters today, a business and investment forum between Sharjah and Mauritius, in cooperation with the Economic Development Board of the Republic of Mauritius.

The forum discusses investment cooperation and exchanging information about investment opportunities in the two countries, with the participation of representatives of Emirati companies and more than 60 companies from Mauritius specializing in a number of strategic sectors, most notably industry, tourism, agriculture, logistics services, renewable energy and the blue economy.

The forum was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, His Excellency Shawkat Ali Sodhan, Ambassador of the Republic of Mauritius to the country, His Excellency Hemraj Ramnial CSK, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mauritius Economic Development Board, and His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director General of the Chamber of Commerce. Sharjah Industry, Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director General for the Communication and Business Sector, a number of department directors and officials at the Sharjah Chamber, the Sharjah International Airport Free Zone Authority, and representatives of a number of economic companies in Sharjah.

On the sidelines of the forum, the Sharjah Chamber signed a memorandum of understanding with the Economic Development Board of the Republic of Mauritius. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais stressed the importance of the forum in strengthening trade relations and developing mutual cooperation between the private sectors in the Emirate of Sharjah and the Republic of Mauritius, as well as promoting the investment opportunities available to each side.

In turn, Shawkat Ali Soudhan pointed out that the forum is an important platform for enhancing communication between the business communities in the two countries, presenting available investment opportunities, and exploring promising areas of cooperation. For his part, Hemraj Ramnial CSK pointed out that coordination between the Mauritius Development Council and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry is an important milestone in the process of growing economic cooperation between the business communities in Mauritius and Sharjah and the UAE in general.
