Boat towed to shore after losing power near Verrazzano Bridge

NEW YORK (WABC) — A boat that ran into trouble near the Verrazzano Bridge reminded me of the bridge collapse in Baltimore.

The Coast Guard says it received a report Friday night about a boat that lost power in the Kill Van Kull Channel.

The crew managed to get the ship at least partly functional, but tugboats helped it reach shore.

The ship has since been repaired and obtained the necessary certification to return to service.
