Alleged Burgess 'kerfuffle' in Crowe's Bunnies box

Two of the Burgess brothers were allegedly involved in a “kerfuffle” during South Sydney’s loss to the Warriors at Accor Stadium on Saturday.

Nine journalist Danny Weidler says eldest brother Luke and retired star George – twin of still-playing Tom – were invited to club co-owner and Hollywood icon Russell Crowe’s private box for the round five fixture.

But according to Weidler, the brothers arrived with three additional guests who were not on the invite list.

“There was a bit of a dispute,” Weidler told Nine’s 100% Footy on Monday night.

“They were criticised by the Souths official for bringing three extra people into Russell Crowe’s box.

“They were chastised about it and told they could cough up another $800 to have them there.

“The people they brought in were actually involved in Ramadan, they said they weren’t eating or drinking, they were just there.
