An investigation opened in Brazil against Elon Musk, accused of"criminal exploitation of"

Elon Musk in the crosshairs of Brazilian justice. A judge of the Brazilian Supreme Court ordered the opening of an investigation against the owner of the X platform on Sunday April 8. In a legal ruling consulted by AFP, the magistrate, Alexandre de Moraes, evokes a supposed “criminal exploitation of X” from the billionaire, also boss of Space X and Tesla.

He also enjoined “the social network, under penalty of a fine of 100,000 reais (approximately 18,300 euros) per reactivated profile. In recent years, this judge himself ordered the blocking of accounts on X, some being suspected of spreading disinformation. “Social networks are not lawless lands!”insisted the magistrate, in capital letters, in his legal ruling.

Saturday evening, Elon Musk began a series of attacks on “lifting all restrictions”, without giving further details. On Sunday, he returned to the charge, affirming that judge Alexandre de Moraes should “resign or be removed” to get “brazenly and repeatedly betrayed the constitution and people of Brazil”.
