Washington: We did not know the date of Israel’s invasion of Rafah

US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said on Monday that the United States did not know the date of the Israeli invasion of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the date had been set.

"Miller" added; He told reporters that Washington never wants to see a large-scale invasion of Rafah, the last refuge for displaced Palestinians in Gaza. Earlier today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: The date for the Israeli army’s entry into the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip has already been agreed upon. Netanyahu explained, in his speech, that “victory over Hamas requires entering Rafah and eliminating the terrorist brigades there,” stressing that his country is constantly working to achieve its goals, foremost of which is the release of all hostages and achieving complete victory over Hamas. For weeks, the United States has been pressuring Israel to dissuade it from carrying out a ground invasion of Rafah, whose population has risen to one and a half million people, according to the United Nations, with the influx of displaced people there from the devastated areas in the north and center, for fear of a humanitarian catastrophe, but to no avail.
