The UAE Parliamentary Division participates in the meetings of the heads of the international affairs committees of the parliaments of the BRICS countries in Moscow
Moscow, April 12 / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee in the Federal National Council, Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the UAE Parliamentary Division in the parliaments of the BRICS member states, and Her Excellency Sarah Muhammad Falaknaz, a member of the Council, participated in the meetings of the heads of the committees. International Affairs Group, held yesterday and today at the headquarters of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in Moscow.
Participants in the meetings discussed the draft agenda of the tenth BRICS Parliamentary Forum, which will be held in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg next July under the title “The Role of Parliaments in Promoting Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security.”
His Excellency Dr. Ali Al Nuaimi stressed the importance of adhering to the basic principles of the BRICS group, and the necessity of achieving security and peace for all without exception.
He stressed the importance of focusing on the parliamentary dimensions and challenges facing the BRICS group, and the importance of cooperation at three levels, the first within the group, the second at the bilateral level of the group’s members, and the third parliamentary diplomacy within international organizations such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
His Excellency also proposed the formation of a BRICS Plus group in the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and stressed the importance of the group being a role model in cooperation, harmony, and unified and shared positions, while being committed to the principles of work and cooperation as a basis for interaction among members. The group will contribute to unifying positions among member states and speaking with one voice on behalf of a group of parliaments. Brix Plus.
Her Excellency Sarah Falaknaz, member of the Federal National Council, stressed the importance of focusing on parliamentary cooperation in supporting the humanitarian and cultural field, by engaging people in a way that enhances communication and understanding between BRICS member states.
She pointed out that preferring the humanitarian approach lays the foundation for strong trade relations, economic growth, and sustainable development initiatives within the group, with the importance of highlighting success stories and not limiting them to reviewing the benefits of cooperation between the BRICS group, which ensures the continuity of the group’s work and enhances its position on the international arena.
