41 dead in 3 days due to heavy rains in Pakistan

Islamabad, April 15 (WAM): At least 41 people were killed, including 28 who were struck by lightning in Pakistan as a result of heavy rain between Friday and Sunday.

According to the National Disaster Management Authority in Pakistan, the state of Punjab recorded the largest human losses, as 21 people were killed there by lightning strikes that struck rural areas, and in the state of Balochistan in the southwest of the country, at least eight people were killed, including seven who were injured by lightning, and in the southern coastal state of Sindh, people were killed. Four people died in road accidents related to heavy rains, and heavy rains also killed eight people – including four children – in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan.
