Mother left red-faced after accidentally inviting her entire list of 487 contacts to her daughter’s first birthday party – including her boss and her ex

A mother got the shock of her life when she found out that she had invited her entire contact list to her daughter’s birthday party.

Emily King, from San Francisco, made an e-vite for her child’s first birthday and was asked by the website whether she wanted to ‘import her contacts list’.

She thought the the prompt would give her the option to select through the people she wanted to invite.

But not only did it import all 487 contacts on her phone, it also gave them access to the party details and told them to come along.

‘Not only did I invite my boss, all of my co-workers, all of the people who have ever been stored in my phone,’ she told her TikTok followers.

Emily King, from San Francisco, made an Evite for her child’s first birthday and ended up importing her whole contacts list

‘But it sent an invitation based off of how they are stored in my phone. I want you to just take a second and think about everyone stored in your phone and how they’re stored in your phone and imagine them receiving an invitation.’

Emily (twodachshundkings) added that Derek, who had an eye-roll emoji next to his name, received an invitation, along with a woman named Jess who was saved under ‘Jess – hit her car in the parking lot’.

She finished the clip by saying: ‘I have to quit or get a new identity, I don’t even know.’

In a follow up video, she explained she knew something was wrong when she saw almost 500 names on the guest list for the event.

‘I canceled the party but unfortunately invitations had already been sent out. So people were no longer able to see information for the party but they still had the invitation on their phone.

‘People were pretty good sports about it. My boss and my ex, they all thought it was hilarious.

‘As far as all the unfortunate names I had in my contacts, they did not respond, which is probably a good thing and hopefully they won’t show up.’

As the invitation in her phone, Emily then had to have the awkward conversation about why guests could not longer access the details after she deleted the event.

‘I had to explain to them that it’s actually more of an exclusive event,’ she added.

Emily then claimed Evite ‘did not pay for her therapy’ but instead gave her a Doordash voucher to use towards feeding her guests at the actual party.

She said she was glad she published the video online as many people have made her feel better about her experience and having odd names for people in their phone.
