The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities participates in the African Tourism Investment Forum (TIFA) in South Africa

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities participated, during the past few days, in the second session of the African Tourism Investment Forum (TIFA), which was held in Cape Town, South Africa.

This forum is organized on the sidelines of WTM Africa, and aims to work to highlight the objectives Host and Participation Tourism and its tourist destinations, attractive areas and investment sites contribute to achieving its economic goals, in addition to facilitating the development and growth of start-ups in the tourism sector.

A number of ministers and officials from African countries concerned with tourism affairs were also present, in addition to a number of economic and investment experts, banks and financial institutions, and representatives. Some regional and international organizations, and a group of businessmen and investors from several countries, and the Ministry’s participation in the forum was coordinated with and in the presence of Minister Plenipotentiary Trade Raji Nabil Adly, Head of the Commercial Office in Pretoria, and under the umbrella of the Egyptian Embassy in South Africa.

It was The forum included 7 dialogue sessions and 14 presentations, during which many topics were discussed, including ways to benefit from modern technology and innovation in tourism, green tourism and mechanisms for implementing sustainable tourism, enhancing tourism investment, hospitality and hospitality, competitiveness and travel infrastructure in African countries.< /p>

For his part, Engineer Ahmed Youssef reviewed, through a presentation, the size of the developments witnessed by the tourism industry in Egypt, the size of the Egyptian state’s various investments and the efforts it is making to improve and develop the infrastructure, and the positive impact that has on the industry at the present time. And the future and facilitating the process of movement of tourists between different tourist destinations.

He also talked about the various tourism products present in Egypt, highlighting the diversity of products that have a great competitive advantage and which the Ministry is focusing on during the current period, especially beach tourism, cultural tourism, Family tourism and adventure tourism.

He also referred to the broad outlines of the national strategy for tourism development in Egypt and the three main axes, in terms of targeting increased air carrier capacity, increasing the number of hotel rooms and opportunities available for investment in this framework, and working to develop The tourism experience in Egypt, reviewing the hotel investment incentives that Egypt is scheduled to provide, which will work to urge and encourage local and international investors to invest in tourism in Egypt, especially the hotel field.
