YMU Chief Financial Officer Exits Following Agency’s $75M Sale To Permira Credit

EXCLUSIVE: YMU‘s chief financial officer Anthony Zarmakoupis has left the British talent agency following its £60M ($75M) debt sale to Permira Credit.

Zarmakoupis stepped down as a YMU director in March after little more than a year with the agency, which reps stars including Simon Cowell and Claudia Winkleman.

Zarmakoupis has been replaced by Lauren Miller, who takes up a place on the agency’s board. She has previously worked at companies including Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Zarmakoupis would have been involved in YMU’s sale and financial restructuring last year. Permira took control of YMU’s newly-created parent company Yokozuna Newco Limited, with Trilantic Europe exiting the agency after five years.

Under the deal, Permira converted £32.9M of YMU debt into Yokozuna shares and canceled a further £16M of debt. Permira also made a credit facility of £10M available to YMU. Lloyds Bank made a £16M debt facility available to YMU, $12M of which is valued in dollars.

YMU has operations in the UK and U.S., with clients across TV, music, and the influencer realm. Other names on its books include British presenters Ant and Dec and YouTube star Amelia Dimoldenberg.
