Sabry submits a proposal with a desire to find an immediate solution to the crisis of turning off traffic lights in Alexandria during a power outage

 

Deputy Engineer Mohamed Sabry, Secretary of Central Parliamentary Affairs of the Mostaqbal Watan Party, member of the Senate for Alexandria Governorate, submitted a proposal at the request of Counselor Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek, President of the Senate, addressed to Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, President The Council of Ministers, and Major General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development, on finding an immediate solution to the crisis of turning off traffic lights located on the Army Road “Corniche”. In the governorate, due to the power outage according to the governorate’s load shedding rotation schedule.

 

According to the explanatory memorandum submitted by Deputy Engineer Mohamed Sabry, the Alexandria Electricity Distribution Company is implementing a load shedding plan. Loads cut off the power supply to the neighborhoods of Alexandria Governorate for periods ranging from one to two hours. During the power outage, traffic lights go out in the areas located there, causing a problem for pedestrians crossing at these times, especially the Army Road “Corniche”.  It causes run-over accidents against citizens due to random crossing of the road, so MP Mohamed Sabry proposed finding a quick and effective solution to regulate pedestrian crossing of main roads in order to preserve the lives of citizens.

 

And in In the same context, Representative Engineer Mohamed Sabry, a member of the Senate from Alexandria Governorate, recommended that the Electricity Distribution Company implement a complete and immediate solution by providing mobile electric generators to emergency teams in order to find a temporary and immediate solution during a power outage by lighting traffic lights on the Corniche Road. And the immediate start of their operation. He also recommended conducting a comprehensive study on supplying traffic lights with solar energy and using them in the near future to ensure the sustainability of the solution for any emergency that occurs in the future, and to coincide with the implementation of the plan to reduce loads in the summer.
