Starting to receive entries for the 2nd session of "Silk Road Award for International Media"
BEIJING, 16 APRIL/WAM/ The “Silk Road Award” for International Media has begun receiving entries for its second session, which is being held under the auspices of the “Belt and Road” Network for News and Media Cooperation and organized by the Chinese People’s Daily newspaper.
The award, which is one of the main activities of the “Belt and Road” network, aims to enhance the spirit of the Silk Road based on peace, cooperation, openness, inclusiveness, learning and mutual benefit, and to encourage media institutions in countries and regions participating in building the “Belt and Road” initiative to cooperate, tell the initiative’s stories and make its voice heard. for the world.
The award includes four main categories: the Best Report Award, the Best Photo Award, the Best Video Award, and the Innovation Award.
Businesses that support the Belt and Road Initiative, contribute to building a community with a shared future for humanity, and have good international influence can participate in the award. The works must be produced by foreign parties, with the possibility of accepting works shared between China and other countries or produced in China and broadcast on foreign platforms.

The first session of the award received works during the period from January 2020 to September 2021, announced its results in December 2022, and held a series of its events during 2023, where 19 works won in 5 categories. Pakistani Mushahid Hussain Saeed, president of the Pakistani Club of Friends of the Road, won. Al-Harir, Chairman of the Pakistan-Chinese Association, received the Special Contribution Award.
The “Belt and Road” network for news and media cooperation includes 261 media organizations from 109 countries, including the Emirates News Agency, and aims to enhance understanding, friendship and media cooperation, to be an important platform for media cooperation within the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative.
