Successful participation of the UAE show jumping team in international competitions "Gurla Minor" In Italy
Rome, April 16, 2017 (WAM) – The riders of the UAE show jumping team achieved outstanding results in the four-star “Gurla Minor” championship in Milan, Italy, as part of the fourth competition in the European Championships during the current stage of gradual preparation in Italy.
The preparation camp is being held in Italy with the support and follow-up of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Supreme Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Academy, President of the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and Al Ain Ladies Club, owner and founder of Al Shiraa Stables, in preparation for participation in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Jockey Abdullah Al-Marri won third and seventh place in the young horses race, and also achieved fifth place in the Grand Prix race over hurdles 155 cm high, and also fifth place over hurdles 150 cm and 145 cm high.
Jockey Salem Al Suwaidi won fifth and sixth place over obstacles that reached a height of 145 cm, while jockey Omar Al Marzouqi achieved sixth place over obstacles that reached a height of 145 cm, and tenth place over hurdles that reached a height of 150 cm.
The team is preparing to participate in the “Busto Arsizio” two-star championship in Milan, Italy, from April 19 to 21, with the participation of riders Omar Al Marzouqi and Ali Al Karbi.
