The European Union seeks to expand sanctions on Iran after the attack on Israel

European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said that some member states of the bloc have requested an expansion of the scope of sanctions on Iran in response to its attack on Israel.

 

Borrell confirmed – as reported. Al-Hurra American Channel reported on Tuesday that the Union’s diplomatic body will begin working on this matter after some members suggested increasing restrictions on Iran.

He explained that the new proposal will expand the sanctions regime that seeks to limit the supply of Iranian aircraft without A pilot to Russia would include missiles and could also include deliveries to agents in the Middle East.

Germany, France and several other EU members have publicly supported such a proposal. Borrell said that he supports the proposal, and diplomats will work on it in the coming days, so that ministers can discuss it again at a meeting held in Luxembourg, next Monday.
