"Minister of Transport" Discussing developments in the manufacture and supply of wagons, a deal for 1,350 new passenger railway wagons

The team was held by engineer Kamel Al-Wazir –  The Minister of Transport held an expanded meeting with Ambassador András Kovacs, the Hungarian Ambassador to Cairo, and Czaba Toro, President of the “Janz Mafag” company. Hungary supplied a contract for 1,350 railway wagons of various models to the Egyptian National Railway Authority in order to follow up on the schedule for manufacturing and supplying the deal’s wagons. The meeting was attended by Engineer Mohamed Amer, Chairman of the Railway Authority, the authority’s leaders, and Sotec company officials.

 

The Minister: 914 vehicles have arrived from the deal so far, and the new vehicles that arrive are being entered into service successively into the daily operating schedule

 

The latest developments in manufacturing were reviewed during the meeting. And the deal wagons, as the number of wagons that have arrived so far has reached 914 new railway wagons, as well as the schedule for supplying the rest of the deal wagons, which consist of  1,350 carriages, 500 third-class carriages with dynamic ventilation, 460 air-conditioned third-class carriages, 105 air-conditioned first carriages, 210 air-conditioned second carriages, 35 air-conditioned second buffets, and 40 air-conditioned third buffet.

 

He confirmed. The Minister stressed the importance of continuing to adhere to the technical standards in accordance with the terms of the contract and adhering to the planned timetable for supplying the rest of the vehicles, given the importance of  The deal contributed to raising the efficiency of daily operation and regularizing operating schedules, pointing out that the new cars that arrive are introduced into service successively into the daily operating schedule of the railway, to maintain the continuity of providing distinguished services to the passenger public.

The Minister indicated that this deal is one of the fruits of the huge contracts that were concluded under the auspices of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to develop the transportation sector, especially railways, with the aim of upgrading it in accordance with the latest technological systems in force in the world. This deal also comes Within the framework of implementing the comprehensive plan to develop the railway facility and create a major qualitative shift in the level of service provided to the passenger public, in parallel with the establishment of a network of high-speed electric train lines with a length of 2000 km and linking them together.

 

Also, During his meeting with the Hungarian ambassador in Cairo, the Minister of Transport confirmed that this deal is considered a shining sign of cooperation between the two sides in the field of transportation, and the joint cooperation in this deal embodies the distinguished relations that link the political leadership of the two countries and the two friendly peoples, stressing that the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to continue work. To enhance cooperation between the two countries in a way that achieves common interests and contributes to achieving development and prosperity for the two friendly peoples.
