McDonald’s stabbing: Man left fighting for life after being wounded at St Albans venue

A man is fighting for his life after he was allegedly stabbed by a teenager and left with severe wounds in a McDonald’s carpark.

Emergency services rushed to the McDonald’s in St Albans, in Melbourne’s northwest, at about 6am on Tuesday following reports of a stabbing.

The McDonald’s is on St Albans Road, next to a community sports ground and small shopping centre.

The 37-year-old man, who has yet to be identified, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

In a statement police said: ‘It is believed the man was involved in a dispute with another man prior to being located with his injuries.’

A 16-year-old boy was arrested at a Keilor Downs address on Tuesday over the alleged stabbing.

Police will allege the teenager was involved in a stabbing at St Albans railway station on Monday.

It is alleged the victim, a 21-year-old man from Tarneit, was chased by three males before being stabbed.

The young man was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing, with police urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

It comes amid a nationwide epidemic of violent attacks in public places where the alleged offender used a knife to injure victims – with four other incidents in this month alone.
