The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center continues to receive entries for the third session of the Kenz Al-Jeel Award

ABU DHABI, 17 APRIL / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center announced that it will continue receiving entries for the third session of the “Generation Treasure” Award, until next May 31, in an effort to provide the opportunity for more creative people to present their works.

His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, said: “The Kenz Al-Jeel Award has become a milestone and a distinctive landmark in the cultural and literary field at the regional level, due to its attracting qualitative contributions from an elite group of interested writers and writers with creative projects that would shed more light on… “The importance and status of this authentic type of literature.”

He added: “We seek for the award to remain a source of creativity in the field of poetry and literature, and a platform that achieves the center’s strategic goals in promoting the Arabic language and consecrating its status, and a cultural demonstration that defines the aesthetics and masterpieces of matching traditional poetry and its important role in enriching the cognitive and cultural movement with many authentic contents and values.”

The Center launched the award with the aim of honoring Nabati poetic works, folkloric studies, and research, which is granted to scholars and creators who presented works that dealt with the heritage related to Nabati poetry and its authentic values, as its name is inspired by one of the poems of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul,” in an effort to raise The status of poetry as a mirror of society and the place its poetry embodies in the Emirati and Arab conscience. Despite its modernity, the award has secured a prominent position in the cultural scene, and has become a station awaited by poets of Nabati poetry, and those who study and research folklore, translation, and plastic arts, to highlight their pioneering contributions to the revival of the rich and diverse cultural heritage, and to display their heritage literary creativity, as the award receives entries within its six branches. Which includes contemporary poetry, the arts, studies and research, poetry publications, translation, and the creative personality.

The conditions for participation in the award, whose total value is 1.5 million UAE dirhams, include specifications that increase its competitiveness, by adopting specific criteria for the participating texts and studies, and a fair evaluation mechanism that has produced great reliability among the participants. The conditions include nominating the “Creative Personality” category through one of the academic institutions. Research, cultural, and the Supreme Committee of the Award, while the right to nominate for the remaining five branches of the award comes from the creator personally, literary unions, cultural institutions, universities, and publishing houses.

The conditions include that the candidate must have made an effective contribution to enriching and developing the local and Arab poetic, critical, or artistic movement, and that the nominated works must achieve a high degree of originality and innovation, and represent a real addition to human culture and knowledge, in addition to containing the submitted work published on an international numbering (ISBN serves you) / ISBN) to ensure ownership rights, and to return her right to the prize.

The candidate has the right to submit one work for one of the branches of the award, and the nominated works must not participate in any other competition or award during the same year, and must be written in the Arabic language, with the exception of the “Translation”, “Studies and Research” and “Creative Personality” branches. The award is also entitled to Publish the submitted works as you deem appropriate, and creative people can apply for the arts branch according to the type of art approved by the committee in each session, which is Arabic calligraphy in this session, provided that the artist uses the poem (O, the youth to Ghatarif) by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.” May God rest his soul in building the artistic painting he creates by combining it with Arabic calligraphy. The winner has the right to apply for the award again 5 years after winning.

The award in the “Poetic Competition” section will be given to the poem that is distinguished by its ability to match the poem (O The Youth to Ghatarif) by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul. As for the “Creative Personality”, it will be awarded to one of the personalities or institutions that have made contributions. A prominent and active creative person in Nabataean poetry and its studies, and in the fields of music, singing, drawing, and Arabic calligraphy.

The “Arts” branch award is awarded to an artistic work that uses visual and technical tools in reading, performing, and embodying Sheikh Zayed’s poetry and Nabati poetry, such as Arabic calligraphy, or plastic art. As for the fourth branch award, “Studies and Research,” it is awarded to studies on published Nabati poetry, provided that they address methods. This poetry, its content, and its dictionary are presented in a scientific style and a serious research approach.

As for the fifth category award, “Poetic Publications,” it is given to a collection of Nabati poetry that is original in form and content. As for the translation award, “the sixth and final category,” it is awarded to poems and verses from the poetry of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul,” translated into one of the languages. Live within a mechanism decided by the Supreme Committee of the Award, or honors a work that has provided a great service in transmitting and translating Arabic poetry into other languages.
