The death toll from heavy rains and storms in Pakistan has risen to 63

ISLAMABAD, April 17 (WAM) – The death toll from heavy rains, storms and lightning bolts in Pakistan over the past four days has risen to 63 people.
Spokesman for the National Disaster Management Authority in Pakistan, Khurshid Anwar, said that the collapse of buildings caused by bad weather during the past days resulted in the deaths of 32 people, including 15 children and 5 women.
Anwar added that dozens of other people were also injured in northwestern Pakistan due to bad weather conditions, noting that 1,370 homes were damaged.
In the Punjab province, 21 deaths were recorded due to lightning strikes and landslides resulting from heavy rainfall, while officials in the Balochistan province, southwest of the country, announced 10 deaths following sudden floods.
