The first round of political consultations between Egypt and Luxembourg was held in Cairo

 The first round of political consultations between Egypt and Luxembourg was held today, Wednesday, at the headquarters of the Diplomatic Club in Tahrir, headed by Ambassador Khaled Amara, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs.

The consultations were chaired on the Luxembourg side by Ambassador Veronique Duquenorff, Director of Affairs. Policy at the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance various aspects of bilateral cooperation relations at the political, economic, commercial and cultural levels, and to encourage and attract investments from Luxembourg to Egypt. Especially in the financial services, information technology, digitization, infrastructure, tourism, civil aviation and logistics sectors. Opportunities for scientific cooperation and specialized technical education were also discussed. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated – in a statement – that the consultations constituted an opportunity to welcome the development of relations between Egypt and the European Union and raise their level to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership. And the opportunities it provides to deepen cooperation and investments and stimulate partnerships in the industrial and service fields.

The two sides also exchanged views and coordinated on international and regional issues of common interest, most notably the war on the Gaza Strip, and finding a political horizon to end the occupation of the Palestinian territories. In addition to discussing developments in the Arab region, Africa, and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and its regional and global impacts.
