A suspect in plotting an assassination attempt on Zelensky has been detained in Poland.

A citizen of this country, who is suspected of collaborating with Russia, was detained in Poland and arrested by court decision. It is alleged that he collected information for Russian military intelligence about an airfield in the Polish city of Rzeszow, located near the border with Ukraine. Allegedly, this information, among other things, was supposed to help in preparing the attempt on the life of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

About the detention of a Polish citizen named Pavel K. reported National Prosecutor’s Office of Poland. He was detained on April 17, the message was published the next day. It is alleged that materials and evidence in this case were transferred to the Polish side by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office also published message about the detention and arrest of a Polish citizen. It states that the suspect, on his own initiative, came into contact with representatives of the Russian military command. Also mentioned is the possible preparation of an assassination attempt on Zelensky during his stay in Poland.

It is reported that the decision to arrest the suspect was made by a court in Warsaw. He was charged with “readiness to act in the interests of foreign intelligence against Poland.” This article carries a sentence of up to eight years in prison. The investigation is ongoing. Both sides emphasized the fruitful cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian intelligence and law enforcement agencies in this matter.
