Clackline crash: Three men and a child, 9, killed in horror smash on highway

Four people including a nine-year old boy have been killed in a horror crash on a country highway.

The fatal smash happened early on Friday morning at Clackline, about 80km north-east of Perth.

Three men, aged 45, 19, 21, and the young boy, were heading east along Great Eastern Highway in a silver Nissan Navara ute when it left the road and hit a tree about 12.30am, reported The West Australian.

It’s understood all four dead suffered catastrophic injuries at the scene and could not be saved. 

The state transport agency Main Road WA, urged motorists to take extra care near Eadine Road. 

Western Australia Police said a major crash investigation has begun to look at the circumstances surrounding the incident.  

Detectives have urged anyone who saw the ute driving in the area prior to the crash or anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
