Shukry heads to South Africa to head the Egyptian delegation to the joint committee meetings

 Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will head this evening, Thursday, to the city of Pretoria, the capital of South Africa, to head the Egyptian side participating in the work of the tenth session of the joint committee between Egypt and South Africa, which is held at the level of foreign ministers, with the participation of a number of senior officials. On behalf of the ministries and national authorities concerned on both sides.

This was stated by Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that Minister Shukri is scheduled to begin his visit with political consultations. He will hold it with his counterpart, the South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Naledi Pandor, where the general framework of bilateral relations and ways to enhance them will be discussed, in addition to consultations on a number of regional and international files of common interest, most notably the developments in the war in the Gaza Strip, in addition to topics related to The African Union, and the state of peace and security on the African continent. 

Ambassador Abu Zeid explained that the joint committee between Egypt and South Africa is held alternately every two years, and aims to follow up and strengthen mechanisms for joint action and cooperation in multiple diplomatic, political, security and economic fields. Socially, he revealed that a number of memorandums of understanding and agreements will be signed during this session that achieve the common interests of the two countries and contribute to strengthening the bonds of cooperation and friendship between them.
