The Head of State and the Prime Minister of Romania discuss the relations of the two countries and witness the announcement of memorandums of understanding

Abu Dhabi, April 18 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received today His Excellency Ion Marcel Ciulacu, Prime Minister of the friendly Republic of Romania, who is on a working visit to the country.
During the meeting, which took place at the Beach Palace in Abu Dhabi, His Highness welcomed the guest Prime Minister of the UAE, expressing his wishes for success in his visit to advance relations between the two countries in all fields.
His Highness the President and the Romanian Prime Minister discussed opportunities to develop cooperation in various priority development sectors, especially economic and trade, in addition to renewable energy, food security and technology, which contributes to opening new horizons that support mutual investments in the two countries.
The two sides also reviewed a number of regional and international issues and topics of common interest and exchanged views on them, most notably reducing the escalation in the Middle East region and working to calm tensions in the region, in addition to ceasefire efforts in the Gaza Strip and enhancing the response to the humanitarian crisis.
During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the UAE’s interest in developing its relations with Romania and investing in all available opportunities to enhance their cooperation, especially in the development fields. His Highness pointed out that the relations between the UAE and Romania go back to the first years of the establishment of the state and are characterized by continuous development that It serves development and progress in both countries.
His Highness emphasized the UAE’s consistent approach to developing its economic, trade and investment partnerships with various countries of the world in order to achieve the common interest in development and prosperity for all.
For his part, the Prime Minister of Romania said that his country shows special interest in strengthening its relations with the UAE, especially in the economic and investment fields, and benefiting from its inspiring development experience, pointing out that the UAE represents a vital global center for economy and trade.
He expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the President of the State for the warm reception and generous hospitality he and the accompanying delegation received during his visit to the country.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Prime Minister of Romania, also witnessed the announcement of two memorandums of understanding between the two countries, the first in the field of artificial intelligence and the digital economy, and another between the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority in the country and the National Authority for Management and Regulation of Telecommunications in Romania, in addition to “minutes of the meeting.” “Strategic Alignment/Masdar Company,” which defines the main agreed upon principles of cooperation that will be included in an agreement to be signed by the two sides during July 2024.

It was also attended by the delegation accompanying the Romanian Prime Minister, which includes a number of ministers and senior officials in Romania.
