Tyler Cameron Says First ‘Golden Bachelor’ Couple “Has Put A True Stain On Love In Bachelor World”

Former Bachelorette contestant Tyler Cameron isn’t pulling any punches when it comes to his feelings about Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist, the first Golden Bachelor couple who recently broke off their engagement.

“They have put a true stain on love in the Bachelor world,” the recent participant from Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test said during an interview on SiriusXM’s The Happy Hour. “Three months? They make all my relationships seem very long. Golly. I’m a dating expert compared to them.”

“It brought so much joy back to the Bachelor,” he added about the new Bachelor iteration that featured 60-and over bachelorettes vying for Turner’s love. “Then they just pulled the rug right from under us.”

Cameron, who’s busy shilling for Going Home with Tyler Cameron on Prime Video, called the couple “two stubborn old people.” They met on the ABC last fall and married in a live ABC televised wedding in January.

“Gerry and Theresa don’t want to change their ways,” Cameron said. “Gerry doesn’t want to want to leave Indiana where his family is and she doesn’t want to leave New Jersey. When you get older, you get more stubborn.”

In an interview April 12 on Good Morning AmericaTurner said, “Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, so forth and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage.”

The duo hinted that the distance between their two families was a factor.

“The thing that strikes me the most in our conversations,” Turner said. “It’s been how dedicated both of us are to our families … So we look at these situations and I think we just feel like it’s best for the happiness of each of us to, to live apart.”
