Abdullah bin Zayed and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands discuss by telephone current developments in the region

Abu Dhabi, April 19 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed during a phone call with Her Excellency Hanke Bronze Sloat, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, the dangerous developments taking place in the Middle East region and their repercussions on regional and global security and stability.

The two sides reviewed the paths of action to stop the escalation and calm the situation to prevent the expansion of tensions and instability in the region.

They also exchanged views on the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and the importance of intensive, safe and sustainable access to aid for civilians in the Strip.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan warned of the dangerous repercussions of increasing tensions on the security and stability of the region, reiterating the importance of exercising the utmost levels of self-restraint and resolving differences through dialogue and through diplomatic channels.

His Highness pointed out that the current situation in the Middle East region requires a collective effort and positive cooperation focused on consolidating the foundations of security and stability there and meeting the aspirations of its people for development and prosperity.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Hanke Bronze Sloat also discussed a number of files of common interest related to strengthening cooperation and partnership relations between the two countries.
