Bahrain expresses its regret at the failure to adopt the resolution on full membership of the State of Palestine in the United Nations

Manama, April 20 / WAM / The Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its regret at the failure of the UN Security Council to adopt the draft resolution accepting full membership of the State of Palestine in the United Nations, in light of the suffering of the Palestinian people from the occupation, the continuation of the war, and the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement broadcast by the Bahraini News Agency (BNA) that completing international recognition of the Palestinian state and its full membership in the United Nations is a legal and political right within the legitimate and inalienable historical rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the basis of a solution. The two states, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant international resolutions, are an essential step to establishing just, lasting and comprehensive peace in a region where freedom, justice, prosperity, security and peaceful coexistence prevail among all its peoples.
