Despite the weather conditions, 15 international, regional and local sporting events continue in Dubai

Dubai, April 19 / WAM / Sports activities, events and tournaments in Dubai were not affected by the exceptional climatic conditions that the UAE has been exposed to over the past days, and these events continued their competitions in light of the presence of strong, integrated sports infrastructure and facilities that made it a destination for attracting major international and global sporting tournaments and events. .

Dubai is currently witnessing the organization of 15 diverse international and local competitive and community sporting events during this weekend, at the forefront of which are the competitions of the first Gulf Youth Games “Emirates 2024”, which are being held with the participation of 3,500 male and female athletes from all Gulf countries, and Dubai is hosting athletics competitions for able-bodied people and people of determination. At the Dubai Police Club, which has already been launched, in addition to Al-Nasr Club hosting volleyball competitions in the tournament, and Shabab Al-Ahli Club hosting table tennis competitions, as well as e-sports and billiards competitions.
In addition to the activities of the first Gulf Youth Games, sporting activities in Dubai during the current period include the Dubai Polo Cup competitions, the finale of the Dubai Gold Cup series of tournaments with the “Handicap 6 Joules”, which is held at the Al Habtoor Polo Club and Resort, and the “Karate Combat 46” tournament will also be held. The first professional league of its kind, in which an elite group of the strongest athletes in the world participates.

Today, Friday, the Dubai Open Summer Championship for Football Academies begins with the participation of 7,000 players representing 520 teams.
On Sunday, April 21, the qualifiers for the Red Bull Half Court Basketball Championship will conclude as part of a series of national qualifiers and finals that bring together street or street ball players in the framework of three-on-three (3 vs. 3) basketball competitions.
Next Sunday, the freestyle wrestling tournament will also begin at the Bulma Hall in Dubai Festival City, with the participation of the strongest wrestlers from various countries of the world, most notably Mason Madden and Johnny Evers.
The ice hockey championship competitions continue on the skating rink in the Al-Nasr Leisureland hall at Al-Nasr Club, and the “Beirut Rhythmic Gymnastics Challenge” Cup tournament will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Shabab Al-Ahly Club, and the “Fight Night” boxing tournament in La Perle Hall in Al Habtoor City in Dubai, and the “Dubai Championship” Athletics Championships at the GEMS World Academy, and the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Sports Complex will host the Hamilton Swimming Championships.
The Dubai Sports Council confirmed the continuation of all international and local sports events and tournaments in various regions of Dubai during the current days, as stadiums, halls and playing fields witness the regular attendance of athletes and the public to participate and follow the competitions according to the established program.
Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary-General of the Council, said in statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM: Everyone followed the great efforts made by the government and private agencies cooperating with them to deal with the challenges of the weather condition, and these great efforts succeeded in overcoming obstacles in many areas. Therefore, sports activity continued in various areas of Dubai. The organizers of the tournaments, in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council and sports federations, announced the organization of several tournaments, including two important matches between Al-Nasr Club and its guest, the Shabab Al-Ahly Club team, in the Professional Football League last Wednesday, and the final of the Emirates Basketball League yesterday evening, Thursday.
He added: During this period, Dubai also witnessed the UAE Football Association and FIFA organizing a legal workshop on the latest developments in international regulations, and the Dubai International Marine Sports Club is also organizing the day after tomorrow, Sunday, the local 60-foot sailing ship race, as this is part of many activities held on land. The sea, the halls, and the various areas of Dubai, which have proven to everyone their efficiency in dealing with all challenges.
