‘More like toys’: Iran downplays drone attack near nuclear site

Washington/Cairo: Iran’s foreign minister said Tehran was investigating an attack on Iran that shook the world and global markets on Friday, but downplayed the attack, saying that so far no link to Israel has been proven.

Hossein Amirabdollahian told NBC News that the drones took off from inside Iran and flew a few hundred meters before being shot down by the country’s air defenses.

“They are… more of toys that our children play with, not drones,” Amirabdollahian said.

“It has not been proven to us that there is a connection between them and Israel,” he said, adding that Iran was investigating the matter but that media reports were not accurate, according to information from Tehran.
