Kuwait draws with Afghanistan in Group D of the 2024 AFC Futsal Cup
The Kuwaiti national team tied with its Afghan counterpart this evening, Saturday, with three goals for each, in the second round of the fourth group competitions in the 2024 AFC Futsal Cup, which was held at the Huamark Indoor Hall in the Thai capital, Bangkok. A report issued by the Asian Football Confederation – according to the Kuwait News Agency – stated that the goals of the Kuwaiti team were scored by Nasser Al-Alaban, Omar Al-Mansour and Saleh Al-Fadhel, while Farzad Mahmoudi and Reda Hussein scored the goals of Afghanistan. The first half started quickly, as the Afghan team took the initiative to open the scoring, and the Kuwaiti team succeeded in scoring the equalizing goal minutes later, scored by Al-Alaban, followed by the team scoring the second goal through Al-Mansour’s feet. At the beginning of the second half, the Afghan team was able to adjust the score, but the Kuwaiti team did not wait long to come back and take the lead again with Al-Fadhel’s shot, while the Afghan team scored a draw again from a penalty kick. The match ended with the two teams tied with three goals each. The Kuwaiti national team is temporarily at the top of Group Four with four points from two matches, compared to three points from one match for Iran and a point for Afghanistan, while Bahrain’s balance is still devoid of points. The Kuwaiti national team won in the first round of the fourth group competitions last Thursday, over the Bahraini national team with a score of two goals to one, while in the third and final round of the group competitions it will face the Iranian national team the day after tomorrow, Monday.
